Panache Digital Games has announced an Early Access release date for "1666: Amsterdam," the new action-adventure title from Patrice Désilets, a key figure in the creation of the "Assassin's Creed" franchise. The game is slated to become available in Early Access on August 25.

"1666: Amsterdam" is described as a dark, third-person narrative action-adventure experience. The game is set to immerse players in the historical setting of Amsterdam, where they will embark on a quest to unravel a central mystery. Players will step into the role of Noa, also known as the Collector, a character who utilizes witchcraft as a primary means to uncover the secrets that lie within the city.

This project marks a significant new endeavor for Désilets, whose previous work on the "Assassin's Creed" series established him as a prominent voice in the action-adventure genre. The setting of 17th-century Amsterdam, combined with elements of witchcraft and mystery, suggests a departure from the historical settings of his earlier work, while retaining a focus on narrative-driven gameplay and player agency. The Early Access period will likely allow the development team to gather player feedback and refine the game's mechanics and narrative before a full release.
