There would be little resistance if you declared Phil Ivey as the greatest poker player of all time. Ivey has crushed the highest-stakes cash games for decades, has amassed almost $55 million in live tournament cashes, and is the proud owner of 11 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets.
Ivey first cashed in a WSOP event in 2000 when the then 23-year-old finished 12th in a $1,500 Seven-Card Stud** event. Including that result, Ivey has cashed 96 times, 46 of those in-the-money finishes were at final tables, and he's taken down 11 events. $11,047,501 of his lifetime earnings stem from WSOP events; no wonder Ivey is a Poker Hall of Famer.
The WPT Global ambassador has enjoyed some massive scores at the WSOP over the years, including a pair of seven-figure cashes. Ivey's top 10 results are worth a combined $6,748,599. With the 2026 WSOP rapidly approaching, we take a look at the 10 largest Ivey scores at the WSOP.
2009 WSOP – 7th place in the $10,000 Main Event - $1,404,014
In 2009, Ivey raked in his first $1m+ prize at the WSOP and the third of his career when he finished seventh in the $10,000 Main Event. The Main Event attracted 6,494 entrants that year, and the legendary Ivey navigated his way to the nine-handed final table seventh of nine in chips.
After James Akenhead bowed out in ninth place and Kevin Schaffel busted in eighth, Ivey fell during the 175th hand of the final table. A short-stacked Ivey moved all-in with ace-king, and Darvin Moon called with ace-queen in the big blind. Just as it looked like Ivey would double up and become a major threat again, Moon spiked a queen on the flop, and Ivey couldn't catch up.
Moon went on to finish second to Joe Cada for $5,182,601, but Ivey had to make do with a $1,404,014 prize for his seventh-place finish.
2022 WSOP – 2nd place in the $100,000 NLHE High Roller - $1,172,659
Phil Ivey at the 2022 WSOP
Ivey cashed for more than $1 million again in 2022 after finishing second in the $100,000 No-Limit Hold'em High Roller. All eyes were on Ivey when he progressed to the heads-up stage against Aleksejs Ponakovs. Not only was Ivey set to win his 12th bracelet, but it would mark his first bracelet in No-Limit Hold'em.
The final hand of this event saw Ivey check-raise all-in on the turn with an open-ended straight draw. Ponakovs tank-called with second pair top kicker to put Ivey at risk. Ivey needed a ten or a five to stay in the tournament, but it was an eight.
Ivey received $1,172,659 for his bridesmaid finish, with Ponakovs collecting his second bracelet and $1,897,363.
2025 WSOP – 5th place in the $100,000 PLO - $715,614
The third-largest WSOP cash of Ivey's career came at the 2025 WSOP in the $100,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event. Ivey was one of 121 entrants in this nosebleed stakes event, but he could only muster a fifth-place finish worth $715,614.
Isaac Haxton was Ivey's nemesis in this tournament. Ivey made a move as he attempted to improve his perilous position, but ran into Haxton's aces, which improved to a top set on the flop, and Ivey was drawing dead on the turn.

2005 WSOP – 1st place in the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha - $635,603
When Ivey won his sixth bracelet at the 2005 WSOP, in the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha, he earned $635,603, the fourth-largest WSOP cash of his career. Ivey battled with the likes of Phil Hellmuth, Surinder Sunar, and Allen Cunningham at the final table of the $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha before defeating Robert Williamson III heads-up for the title and the lion's share of the prize pool.
2006 WSOP – 3rd place in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. - $617,760
At the 2026 WSOP, Ivey was one of 143 entrants in the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E., now named the Poker Players Championship (PPC). Hunting his sixth bracelet at the time, Ivey found himself in the final three against Andy Bloch and the late David "Chip" Reese.
Ivey had to make do with a third-place finish worth $617,760, with Reese taking down the event for $1,784,640.
2022 WSOP – 7th place in the $250,000 NLHE Super High Roller - $597,381
Phil Ivey at the 2022 WSOP
Another $597,381 in winnings came Ivey's way at the 2022 WSOP courtesy of a seventh-place finish in the $250,000 No-Limit Hold'em Super High Roller. Ivey's final participation in this event was to jam 12 big blinds into the middle with queen-jack, a bet that Brandon Steven called with suited ace-queen. Both players flopped a queen, but it was Steven who improved to two pair by the river.
2024 WSOP – 11th place in the $250,000 NLHE Super High Roller - $506,757
Phil Ivey at the 2024 WSOP
Ivey cashed in the $250,000 NLHE Super High Roller again at the 2024 WSOP, but his 11th-place finish came with only a min-cash. However, due to the tournament's astronomical buy-in, that min-cashed tipped the scales at $506,757.
The living legend returned for the final day's play with only 19 big blinds at his disposal, ranking him 12th from 16 returning players. A level after the bubble burst, Ivey four-bet all-in on a ten-five-five flop with pocket queens, and Ben Tollerene looked him up with king-ten. Ivey's hand remained best on the turn, but a king on the river gifted Tollerene two pair and sent Ivey to the rail.
2025 WSOP – 6th place in the $25,000 PLO High Roller - $394,531
Phil Ivey at the 2025 WSOP
At the 2025 WSOP, Ivey's elimination from the $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller brought the curtain down on Day 3. Ivey got the last of his chips in with a set of fours against Michael Duek's pocket aces with a flush draw. That flush came in on the river to resign Ivey to a sixth-place finish worth $394,531.
2024 WSOP – 1st place in the $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw - $347,440
Phil Ivey winning his 11th WSOP bracelet
Ivey won his 11th WSOP bracelet in 2024 in the $10,000 Limit 2-7 Triple Drawn Championship. The $347,440 that accompanied that poker hardware ranks as Ivey's ninth-largest WSOP score.
The victory broke a ten-year bracelet drought for Ivey, and he was made to work hard for the title. His final table opponents of Philip Sternheimer, Jonathan Cohen, Benny Glaser, Jason Mercier, and Danny Wong pushed Ivey hard, but the king reigned supreme for the 11th time in his WSOP career.
2010 WSOP – 1st place in the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. - $329,840
In 2010, Ivey became an eight-time WSOP champion by securing the $3,000 H.O.R.S.E. title, a win worth $329,840. Ivey left the likes of the late Chad Brown, David "ODB" Baker, Jeff Lisandro, Ken Aldridge, John Juanda, and runner-up Bill Chen in his wake as he claimed another gold bracelet and $329,840 in prize money.
If Ivey heads to the 2026 WSOP in Las Vegas this summer, it is highly probable that he will add more cashes and final tables to his already impressive resume. He racked up seven cashes last summer, including an online event, reaching three final tables. Two of those cashes rank among his top 10 WSOP scores. Don't bet against him raking in another huge score or two before the 2026 WSOP concludes.
