Final US Trailer for Norway's 'Kraken' Underwater Sea Monster Movie

by Alex Billington **May 6, 2026

_ "Nothing runs deeper than fear!"_ Samuel Goldwyn Films has revealed another new official US trailer for the Norwegian creature feature action-horror movie Kraken**, from the same Norwegian director as the disaster movie The Tunnel. Almost looks like a crazy Cthulhu movie! This time they have awoken a monster dwelling within one of the Norway's deepest fjords. Kraken follows marine biologist Johanne as she investigates odd occurrences linked to a local fjord. As deadly events unfold, she uncovers a terrifying myth lurking beneath the water's surface – a giant, multi-armed monster ready to destroy everything. This legendary creature is ready to unleash havoc on those destroying the ecosystem – yet another climate change, environmentalist monster movie. Hell yes. 🦑 This stars Sara Khorami, Mikkel Bratt Silset, Ingvild Holthe Bygdnes, Øyvind Brandtzæg, Jenny Evensen, Steinar Klouman Hallert. Kraken already opened in theaters first in Norway & Sweden. It arrives in the US to watch (including on VOD right away) starting in June this summer movie season. Who wants to hang out with this big, hungry Kraken monster? Looks like scary fun.

Here's the final official US trailer for Pål Øie's sea monster movie Kraken, direct from SGF's YouTube:

You can watch the first teaser trailer for Pål Øie's Kraken_ movie right here and another US teaser here.

Johanne (starring Sara Khorami) is a marine biologist who is doing research on a fish farm in Vangsnes, a rural community located by the fjord, when she encounters several strange occurrences. Along with the brutal deaths of two local teenagers, all signs are pointing to the deep fjord; might there be more to the depths than the eye can see? At the bottom of Norway's deepest fjord rests a mythical monster as large as a mountain, with a myriad of arms ready to crush and devour anything they can grab. Kraken is directed by Norwegian filmmaker Pål Øie, director of the films Dark Woods, Hidden, Villmark 2, Astrup: Catching the Flame, and The Tunnel previously. Co-directed by the cinematographer Sjur Aarthun directing his first film. The screenplay is written by Natasha Arthur, Vilde Eide, Kjersti Helen Rasmussen; from a story by Sjur Aarthun and Pål Øie. Produced by John Einar Hagen and Einar Loftesnes. This first premiered at the Göteborg Film Festival and it already opened in Norway in February earlier this year. Goldwyn Films debuts Pål Øie's Kraken movie in select US theaters + on VOD starting June 12th, 2026. Anyone want to watch?
