King's Resort** is renowned for hosting incredible live poker tournament festivals packed with value. Once such festival, the European Poker Festival (EPF) Powered by Dutch Classics, has just concluded in Rozvadov.

The highlight of the EPF was, without doubt, the Main Event. It guaranteed €1 million in its prize pool despite only costing €299 to enter. By the time the final flight's late registration period ended, 3,141 players had bought in, leaving an overlay of around €60,000.

A German player going by the name of "Kaizen" came out on top of that bumper crowd and added a cool €88,000 to their bankroll. The original first-place prize was €103,000, but the final three players struck a deal to lessen the pay jumps.

Each of the nine finalists locked in a five-figure score for the €299 investment, quite the return we're sure you'll agree. Sweden's "Ker" was the first finalist to fall, their ninth-place finish earning them €11,425.

Polish grinder Marcin Matula bowed out in fourth for €14,125. This marked only Matula's second €10,000+ prize and the largest of his career to-date.

Rozvadov regular "M.Fischer" was the next to find themselves void of chips. The German fell in seventh for a €17,700 payout before Belgium's "Mister Two" crashed out in sixth, a finish worth €22,400.

Fifth-place came with a €28,500 prize, almost 100 times the tournament's buy-in! That princely sum now belongs to a German player who goes by "Victor Vegas".

Three of the final four players did not play under a shroud of anonymity; they all fell in succession. Israeli Ben Yoram ran out of steam in fourth place, scooping €36,500 for his efforts. Prior to this event, Yoram had just shy of $15,000 in recorded live tournament earnings.

Dutchman Stephan Dil has three cashes on his Hendon Mob Database_ profile before the EPF Main Event. That trio of cashes totalled $2,951. He can now boast of a €57,300 pay day after striking a deal with his final two opponents before bowing out.

Heads-up pitted "Kaizen" against Romania's Valentin Dumitra, a player who has won most of his $100,000 in lifetime cashes at King's Resort in Rozvadoz. Dumitra fell at the final hurdle and helped himself to a €70,700 consolation prize, a score almost 3.5 times larger than his previous best.

Dumitra's exit left the mystery "Kaizen" as the only player with chips. Their reward was a cool €80,000, the winner's trophy, and the title of EPF Main Event champion.

The Action Never Stops at King's Resort

The European Poker Festival may be done and dusted, but the intense live poker tournament action continues at King's Resort throughout May.

The Deutsche Poker Tour (DPT) is already underway. It runs from May 11-17 and features, among other tournaments, a €175 buy-in Main Event carrying a €300,000 guarantee on its prize pool.

No sooner does the DPT wrap up, the France Poker Festival (FPF) explodes into action. It calls King's Resort home from May 18-25 and boasts a €290 buy-in Main Event with an ambitious €1 million guaranteed prize pool.
