A highly anticipated middleweight bout is on the docket tonight when Sean Strickland takes on the title-holder Khamzat Chimaev.

Strickland (30-7), a former champion, suffered a couple of losses to Dricus du Plessis in 2024 and 2025, but clawed his way back to title contention with a TKO against Anthony Hernandez in February. He’s a UFC veteran with some of the sport’s best striking ability, but he’ll face one of the toughest challenges of his career in Chimaev.

Chimaev, born in Russia and fighting out of Dubai, has never lost a bout in his 15-fight professional career. The grappling expert secured the middleweight title in August by doing what Stickland could not: beating du Plessis.

Strickland and Chimaev also have one of the most antagonistic feuds in UFC history, often compared to Jon Jones-Daniel Cormier and Khabib Nurmagomedov-Conor McGregor. A few weeks ago, Strickland threatened to shoot Chimaev or his teammates if they confronted the California native.
