The excellent Cyberpunk 2077**_ celebrated its fifth anniversary back in December, and since then we've been treated to a steady stream of announcements and surprises. Over the course of 2026 and beyond, we're getting multiplayer arcade games, a new card game, and a brand-new Night City VR experience.
Of all the Cyberpunk 2077-related content that has released since the video game, _Cyberpunk: Edgerunners _has to be up there as the best. The ten-episode 2022 Netflix anime miniseries produced by Studio Trigger and CD Projekt Red was a gripping, brutal prequel to the events of the game, and showed an even scarier side to Night City. If you can't wait for that second season, the good news is _Edgerunners _is getting its very own game.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners - Hunted _is a brand-new tabletop game based on the _Cyberpunk: Edgerunners _anime. The new game takes place in Night City and the same universe as the video game, but follows a different set of characters a little bit before the events of Cyberpunk 2077.
Games are set to a time limit of 25 minutes, and can be played alone or with up to four players collaboratively. The board features connecting tiles which represent different routes through Night City, and it's up to you to guide your Edgerunners to the exit tile before time runs out.
There are, of course, obstacles. You'll need to battle enemies and complete specific missions to advance to the exit, all while being aware of the timer and the fact you're being constantly hunted by foes who you really don't want to catch up with you. It sounds seriously intense, but I'm all for it.
The game is currently available to pre-order now ahead of a September 2026 launch, so if you're looking for a way to stay busy while we wait for the _Cyberpunk 2077 _sequel, this is as good a way as any.
Speaking of, it sounds like we're in for a wait for the next video game entry. Polish brokerage house Noble Securities believes we won't see C_yberpunk 2 _until the tenth anniversary of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2030, which is a pretty painful revelation.

** "Regarding the sequel to Cyberpunk, Noble Securities points out that the team working on the project as part of the studio's second key franchise consists of 135 people and is expected to double in size within two years. The desire to integrate multiplayer mode into the production prompted us to extend the production time beyond the state resulting from the progress of work on the benchmark W4. As a result, the budget has grown to PLN 1.5 billion, and we expect the release in Q4 2030 (the 10th anniversary of CP77)."
It's probably not a huge shock to anyone with a vague understanding of how video game development works that 2030 has been given as a possible release window. But if you want to scratch that Cyberpunk 2077** _before 2030, you've got plenty of options.
