_ "We ain't killers. How we gonna live with ourselves if we do this?"_ Amazon MGM Studios has revealed one final trailer for the movie Is God Is**, an adaptation of the award-winning stage play. In theaters nationwide starting in May coming up in a few weeks. And early buzz is great so far! This could be a surprise summer hit. "Redemption. Revenge. Rage." Twin sisters Racine and Anaia with disfiguring burn scars are ordered by their bedridden mother (known as "SHE" or "God") to kill their abusive father who caused all the scars. The sisters travel to The Valley to face Man and his new family. They must decide whether to seek vengeance or find mercy. Is God Is is also directed by the same woman who wrote the play – Aleshea Harris – making her debut. Starring Kara Young & Mallori Johnson as the sisters, with Janelle Monáe, Erika Alexander, Mykelti Williamson, Josiah Cross, plus Vivica A. Fox and Sterling K. Brown. I'm really digging the gritty revenge vibes in the trailers. These sisters seem like total badasses and tons of fun. I'm down for this.

In the film, two sisters (Kara Young & Mallori Johnson) embark on an epic quest for revenge, confronting a charged family history that will push them to extraordinary lengths. This is Aleshea Harris’ directorial debut and is based on Harris’ adaptation of her award-winning play on vengeance. Is God Is is written and directed by American writer / filmmaker Aleshea Harris, making her film diectorial debut with this adaptation. It's also based on Aleshea Harris' award-winning play of the same name, which first debuted on stage in 2018. It's produced by Tessa Thompson, Kishori Rajan, Riva Marker, Janicza Bravo, Aleshea Harris. This hasn't premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Amazon MGM Studios debuts Harris' Is God Is movie in US theaters nationwide starting on May 15th, 2026 coming soon. Who wants to watch?
