The 888poker XL Spring Series** has reached its halfway point, and the events continue coming thick and fast. "OneShotAway" helped themselves to the largest score of the recently completed events after taking down the $320 DeepStack High Roller.

While "OneShotAway" will be delighted with scooping $5,077 and an XL Spring Series title, 888poker may be less joyous because both the $25 buy-in, $50,000 guaranteed Mini Main and the $250 buy-in, $500,000 guaranteed RAKELESS Mystery Main Event look set to overlay significantly.

"OneShotAway" became an XL Spring Series champion after coming out on top of a 62-strong crowd in the $320 DeepStack High Roller. 888poker isn't best known for its high-stakes tournaments, but a 62-player field for a $320 buy-in tournament is a good turnout.

The nine-handed final table was packed with 888poker regulars, including "AUTIPOSTI," "kellerassel0," "casual_win," and runner-up "neverback." The second-place finisher earned $3,459 for their efforts, while the champion walked away with a $5,077 score.

Only a Handful of $500,000 Guaranteed XL Spring Series Main Event Day 1s Remain

Less than half a dozen Day 1s remain in the $250 buy-in, $500,000 guaranteed XL Spring Series RAKELESS Mystery Main Event. 888poker needs 2,000 players to enter the Main Event to avoid an overlay. At the time of writing, 1,088 entries have been processed. That's an average of 60 per flight. The 888poker lobby shows only five upcoming Day 1s; more must surely be added over the weekend.

"PasHTeT25" is the player who finds themselves at the top of the chip counts heading into the weekend. They turned their 10,000 starting stack into a tournament-leading 266,026 on their chosen Day 1.

Ian Simpson is flying high in the Main Event

888poker ambassadors Ian "Simpioni" Simpson and Nick "eastyyy22" Eastwood have punched their Day 2 tickets. Simpson's 157,401 stack ranks him 15th right now, while Eastwood's 67,921 chips place him closer to the middle of the pack.

The $50,000 guaranteed XL Spring Series Mini Main could also be heading for an overlay, which means more value for those who have bought in. The tournament requires 2,222 entries to meet the guarantee.

Only 892 have bought in so far, averaging 59 per flight across 15 flights. According to the 888poker tournament lobby, only three flights remain, so expect more to be added over the weekend.
