SAG-AFTRA leaders are initiating the process of presenting their newly negotiated studio contract to union members. This deal, which was revealed recently, addresses various concerns, particularly regarding the implications of artificial intelligence in the industry and the merger of two pension funds.

Under the terms of the agreement, studios are permitted to utilize synthetic performers, but only if these digital entities provide “significant additional value” to a production. As the union moves forward with the contract's rollout, members are expressing apprehensions about how these provisions may impact their work and financial security in the long term.
